Omani banks record 6.1pct increase in credit at OMR23bn

(MENAFN) Omani banks, involving Islamic organizations, have recorded a year on year increase of 6.1percent in whole credit at OMR22.8bn by the end of July this year.

Furthermore, credit to the private sector alone increased by 6.8 percent to OMR20.6bn at the same period of the recent year.

Additionally, whole deposits of the banks increased by 6 percent to OMR21.6bn, while private sector deposits increased by 4.3 percent to OMR 13.7bn.

In more details, conventional banks reached an annual increase in total credit of 3.5 percent at the same period of the year, due to credit to the private sector growing by 4.9 percent.
