Omani Duqm Port to export huge 50k tons of limestone

29 Oct 2015

(MENAFN) Port of Duqm, the Oman’s newest gateway on the Wusta coast, is arranging to handle its first export of minerals next week, considered as a milestone development.

Additionally, a batch of around 50,000 tons of limestone is being prepared for export, efficiently marking the commencement of early phase dry bulk operations at the port.

Duqm Port is banking on the commercialization of the large mineral assets of Wusta Governorate to make a large chunk of the industrial hub’s cargo bulks over the long term.

The Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) has identified the Wusta’s abundant mineral resources as the most promising for early investment and commercialization.
