Oman’s Duqm container terminal to start ops by 2020

(MENAFN) A new container terminal at the Duqm Port is projected to start working by early 2020, which handles capacity of 3.5mn twenty-foot equivalent units per annum.

Accordingly, the mandate of the port is to operate the container terminal itself, which will operate with an open mind for handing to over to a third party.

Once the port start full operation, it will have a 2.2-kilometerlong commercial berth, a 2.2-kilometer long container berth, one kilometer long government berth.

Meanwhile, the trend of containerized exports, imports is increasing and there is a need for containerized shipping of operational cargo for the oil and gas sector.
