Oman’s Duqm port work to finish by end-2019

(MENAFN) All work at the Duqm port will be finished by the last quarter of 2019, paving the way for it to become operational as a full-fledged port by the beginning of 2020.

Once the port starts its ops, it will have a 2.2 kilometer long commercial berth, a 2.2-kilometer long container berth.

In addition, the Oman government has inked USD265mn loan deal with a Chinese development bank for funding the development of the port.

Moreover, the port has started operations for importing project cargoes and exporting dolomites after a soft opening a couple of years ago.
