Oman’s foreign direct investment hits OMR7bn

(MENAFN) Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Oman at the end of third quarter of 2016 surpassed OMR7.02bn, according to the National Center for Statistics.

Furthermore, the oil and gas exploration attracted foreign investment of more than OMR3.02bn, whereas fiscal intermediation secured FDI of OMR1.39bn.

Additionally, the FDI in the manufacturing sector hit OMR986.4mn, while real estate and business activities received OMR622.2mn of foreign investment.

The UK tops the list of investors in Oman, with a foreign direct investment of OMR2.797bn, trailed by the UAE at OMR924.8mn and Kuwait at OMR396.1mn in foreign investment.
