(MENAFN) Data showed that Oman’s inflation dropped by 0.12 percent in the April-June period of 2015, mainly due to a decline in prices of the food and non-alcoholic beverages of 0.92 percent.
The decline was also dragged down by a 1.53 percent decrease registered in the clothing and footwear sector, data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed.
Among the sets that logged an increase in prices in the second quarter, education topped the list at 4.49 percent, closely followed by alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics at 4.13 percent.
Meanwhile, restaurants and hotels saw a rise of 0.35 percent, with a similar rate in the housing, electricity, gas and water set 0.33 percent. Furnishings and household equipment set rose 0.11 percent.
