Oman’s inflation rate grows to 1.85pct on higher transport costs

(MENAFN) Inflation in Oman reached at 1.85 percent in Nov, trailing a 10.2 percent increase in prices in the transport basket, as stated the National Center for Statistics.

However, food and non-alcoholic beverages segment saw a decline of 1.25 percent, contributed by a price fall of 1.13 percent in bread and cereals.

On the other hand, meat, as well as fish and seafood posted an increase of 0.52 percent and 6.12 percent, respectively.

Additionally, prices of tobacco products grew by 22.21 percent, whereas clothing and footwear prices eased by 0.96 percent.
