Oman’s medical insurance registers 38 percent growth

(MENAFN) Medical insurance in Oman showed maximum growth between different types of insurance portfolio in 2013, Times of Oman reported.

Medical insurance in the country grew 38 percent in the year, bringing USD163.1 million in premium income, out of a total premium revenue of USD896.1 million.

Insurance companies in the Sultanate reported a 10. 4 percent increase in direct premiums last year, totaling at USD942.7 million.

Statistics released by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) show that medical insurance comprises 17 percent of total insurance premium in Oman.
