Oman’s natural gas production, imports fall by 1pct this year

(MENAFN) Oman’s natural gas production and imports declined by 1 percent to 13.532mn cubic meters for the first four months of this year, compared with 13.670 MNCM in the same period of 2016.

Additionally, natural gas production is projected to grow once BP begins commercial production from its Khazaan tight gas project.

Meanwhile, non-associated gas and imports eased by 0.4 percent to 11.261 MNCM, whereas associated gas production dropped by 4 percent to 2.271 MNCM.

In the cited period, as much as 2.915 MNCM of natural gas was utilized in oil fields, down from 3.053 MNCM units consumed amid the same period in 2016.
