Oman’s ORPIC awards USD3.6 b contracts

(MENAFN) State-owned Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (ORPIC) has awarded two USD3.6 billion worth contracts for the construction of the Liwa Plastics Project, according to Arabian Business.

The contracts were won by the Engineers India Ltd of New Delhi, which will operate the project management company, and Netherlands-based Chicago Bridge & Iron Co, which will be responsible for front-end engineering and design.

Construction work will be in Oman’s northern industrial city of Sohar, next to ORPIC’s oil refinery and petrochemical plants.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2018, the company said.
