(MENAFN) Oman’s annual growth in power demand for the coming seven years is predicted to reach 8 percent, rising from 5.565 MW in 2015 to 9.529 MW in 2022.
Additionally, demand for power is increasing due to population driven residential growth, whole economic growth, development in industrial estates and others.
Meanwhile, the Sultanate’s total population reached 4.4mn by the end of May this year, while the interconnected system region extends amid the governorates of Muscat and Buraimi.
On the other hand, in the Dhofar region, peak demand is projected to grow by 9 percent, from 495 MW in 2015 to 884 MW in 2022.
