Oman’s real estate transactions drop to OMR235mn

(MENAFN) Oman witnessed a 36.8 percent decline in the traded value of real estate properties in Jan this year at OMR235.1mn, compared to the same period in 2016.

Moreover, the number of deals fell by 32.8 percent to 5.582 in Jan, compared to 8.308 contracts for the same period in 2016.

In addition, the government authorities collected almost OMR6.8mn by way of fees for these sales deeds in the cited month of the recent year.

Accordingly, the Sultanate’s mortgage contracts dropped to 49.7 percent to OMR126.4mn, from OMR251.3mn amid the same period.
