Oman’s work on Miraah solar project progresses steadily

(MENAFN) Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and GlassPoint Solar have been working on their landmark solar project ‘Miraah’, and everything is going according to the plans.
Additionally, Miraah, which means mirror in Arabic, is expected to harness the sun’s energy to produce steam used in heavy oil production, thus it’s considered a major scheme for the nation.
Furthermore, this massive mega project is set to be one of the world’s biggest solar plants which at its peak will be able to create more than one gigawatts of solar thermal energy.
“Miraah will eventually generate significant value for Oman by creating new opportunities in supply chain development, manufacturing capacity,” said Director of PDO.
