(MENAFN) Oman Telecommunications (Omantel), the former monopoly of the telecommunication market in the Sultanate, announced logging a 15.5 percent drop of its second-quarter net profit.
The company said it made a net profit of USD69.35 million in the April-through-June period, marking a drop from USD81.74 million which was registered in the same period a year earlier.
It had reported rising profits in six of the preceding seven quarters. Earlier forecasts indicated that Omantel would make a quarterly profit of around USD78.25 million.
