(MENAFN) Austrian energy group OMV inked an exploration joint venture with German BASF’s Winterfall in Abu Dhabi, Reuters reported.
OMV, along with Winterfall will carry out drilling works in three exploratory wells in the Shuwaihat field, west of Abu Dhabi, looking for sour gas and condensate.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) will participate in the development and production phase of the field, OMV said in a statement.
OMV plans to concentrate its exploration and production (E&P) activity on the Caspian region, the Middle East and Africa, where it has already been active for some time.
