(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Airports Company’s (ADAC) COO, Ahmad Al Haddabi, stated that the airport witnessed a 14.5 percent rise in passenger numbers in September, reaching 1.2 million, reported Arabian Business.

Al Haddabi attributed the positive gain to the growing attractiveness of the capital as a trade and tourism destination, which enhances inbound and outbound traffic.

He added that the airport keeps offering efficient connectivity for transfer passengers across all continents.

He noted that the main 5 routes from the airport were Bangkok, London, Doha, Manila and Cairo.

It is worth noting that in September, cargo volume jumped 24.9 percent from a year ago, to 48,525 tons.
