(MENAFN) Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker, said that the carrier is interested in acquiring a stake in Czech Airlines (CSA), however, it is not in talks with any party regarding the subject, reported Arabian Business.
Al Baker said that Qatar Airways would buy a minority stake, if it decided to make an offer.
The carrier is collecting information from several banks and entities in charge for arranging the privatization of Czech Airlines.
In December, the Czech government stated that it was in early stage discussions with the Qatari carrier and Korean Air over the privatization of CSA, noting that a decision on the privatization could be taken in April 2013.
It is worth noting that Qatar Airways has not hired any advisors for the transaction yet.
