(MENAFN) Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al-Baker, stated that the carrier will launch its first long-haul 787 Dreamliner commercial service to London’s Heathrow next month, reported Arab News.
Al-Baker said that at first, the Qatari airline, which is the world’s first carrier to operate scheduled flights to the UK with the Dreamliner, will run one of its 5 daily services with the new aircraft.
The carrier received the first of its 60 Dreamliners earlier this month, and is expecting to take delivery of the second over the weekend.
At the current time, the company is running commercial flights on intra-Gulf routes to familiarize operating crew with the aircraft before entering the long-haul market.
It is worth noting that passengers can book seats on the Doha-London flights online at the carrier’s website, via any Qatar Airways reservation office or local travel agent.
