Qatar Airways looks for stronger ties with Emirates

(MENAFN) Qatar Airway’s CEO said that the airline company could join Dubai-based Emirates Airline in a bid to increase its leverage when holding talks with aircraft manufacturers, Arabian Business reported.

The CEO said: “Integration of Emirates and Qatar Airways will benefit this region and will make the two airlines even stronger than they are today.”

At the previous Dubai Airshow, Qatar Airways partnered with Emirates and ordered 50 Boeing 777-9Xs at a list value of USD18.9 billion, and Dubai’s Emirates purchased 115 777-9Xs and 35 777-8Xs for USD55.6 billion.
