(MENAFN) Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker, stated that the carrier started its services to Gassim, its fifth gateway in Saudi Arabia, reported Qatar News Agency.
Al Baker said that the carrier will run 4 weekly flights to the central Saudi city, raising Qatar Airways’ frequencies to the Kingdom to 65 from 61 a week.
The route is being served by an Airbus A320, featuring 144 seats in a 2-class configuration of 12 seats in First Class and 132 in Economy.
The plane offers seatback TV screens, which provides passengers with the next generation interactive onboard entertainment system that includes a variety of more than 800 audio and video on-demand options, with an SMS text messaging service from each seat.
The carrier, which already flies to Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina and Dammam in Saudi Arabia, serves a global network of 123 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America.
