(MENAFN) Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, said that the airline will expand its flight destinations in Iraq beginning mid-2013, reported Arabian Business.
Al Baker declared that Qatar Airways, which at the current time flies to the Iraqi cities of Baghdad, Erbil and Najaf, will launch 4 weekly non-stop services to Basra and Sulaymaniyah, starting June 3 and August 20, respectively.
The new addition will raise the frequency to 20 per week as at the current time the carrier operates 12 flights across Iraq.
It is worth mentioning that Qatar Airways started flights to Baghdad and Erbil in last year’s summer whereas its service to Najaf was launched in January.
