(MENAFN) Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker, stated that the airline will expand its network to cover Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, the Philippines and Philadelphia in the US, reported Arabian Business.
Al baker said that that the service to Addis Ababa will begin on September 18, whereas that to the Philippines will start on October 28, and flights to Philadelphia will be launched on March 1, 2014.
Furthermore, the carrier would boost capacity to Pakistan by 60 percent, starting June 1, to 28 weekly flights from the current 17.
It is worth noting that in 2013, Qatar Airways plans to launch services to Oman’s Salalah, Iraq’s Basra and Sulaymaniyah, China’s Chengdu, whereas the carrier has already launched services to the Saudi city of Gassim, Iraq’s Najaf, Cambodia’s Phnom Penh and Chicago since the start of the year.
