Qatar Airways to purchase 4.75pct share in American Airlines

(MENAFN) Qatar Airways proclaimed that it aims to buy a share of more than 4.75 percent in American Airlines and it hoped to build a passive shareholding in the U.S. airline.
Accordingly, Qatar Airways believes in American Airlines’ fundamentals and aims to construct a passive position in the firm with no involvement in management, ops or governance.
On the other hand, the Gulf carrier’s investment would not surpass 4.75 percent without prior consent from American Airlines’ board.
