Qatar construction costs to go up 18% by 2017

26 May 2012

(MENAFN) According to data from MEED Tender Price Index (TPI), construction costs in Qatar are to increase by eighteen percent by 2017, reported Arabian Business.

The data cited the increase in costs to the increasing demand due to construction works needed ahead of the FIFA 2022 World Cup that would be held in the oil-rich country.

The coming year alone would account for a four percent increase in costs.

It is worth mentioning that the increase in demand would most likely strain the country’s ability to provide adequate supplies for construction, thus costs would be pushed higher.
