Qatar Holding eyes Harrods hotel in Kuala Lumpur: Media

(MENAFN) Qatar Holding unveiled plans to launch a Harrods-branded hotel and residences in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, local media reported.

According to the Business Times newspaper, Qatar Holding is set to announce a USD635 million deal to develop a Harrods Hotel in Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment district.

The agreement will be in cooperation with Tradewinds Corp Bhd (TCB), which holds the franchise for the Harrods brand in Malaysia, the newspaper added.

Qatar Holding, the investment arm of the Qatar royal family, bought the prestigious London department store from businessman Mohammed Al Fayed for around USD2.3 billion.
