(MENAFN) Qatar International Airport (QIA) has recently scrapped a USD245.03 million deal with Lindner Depa, a joint venture between Dubai-based interiors firm Depa Ltd and Germany’s Lindner AG, Reuters reported.
The contract to fit out the 17 lounges at the new USD15.5 billion airport was the largest project in the Depa’s backlog.
Depa said the contract was canceled after Lindner Depa’s refusal to accept new and non-favorable contract terms and conditions, after being denied full access to the project site to perform its contract scope of work.
QIA is scheduled to open its first phase in December, with the other two phases to be completed by 2015, and will have the capacity to handle 50 million passengers.
