Qatar, Japan sign tax agreement

(MENAFN) Qatar’s Foreign Ministry announced that it has reached an agreement with Japan regarding a bilateral tax treaty that will help businesses and investors avoid double taxation involving the two countries, KUNA reported.

The agreement aims to clarify the taxation on investment and economic activities between the two countries as well as to relieve the international double taxation, with expectations that it will help in promoting further mutual investment and economic exchange.

In addition to this, the draft agreement, which Japan signed similar ones with 63 nations, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman, will also provide the effective exchange of information regarding tax matters between the tax authorities.
