Qatar plans to invest USD2b in Sudan

(MENAFN) Qatar plans to invest nearly USD2 billion in Sudan, reported Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The agency added that the investments would be in the form of purchase of bonds to be issued by the Sudanese Government.

It also said that Qatar might also invest in Sudan’s mining, oil and agricultural sectors.

It is worth noting that the announcement came after a meeting between HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HE Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir in Doha on Wednesday.
