(MENAFN) FIFA 2022-hosting Qatar announced intentions to spend USD70 billion on infrastructure and transport as well as hotels and stadiums, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
The Minister of Finance allocated USD24 billion to key projects, which represents a 16 percent rise, compared to 2013-14, and translates into Qatar’s largest infrastructure budget to date.
Project Qatar 2015 will foster the rapid development of Qatar’s booming construction sector, being among the best attended exhibitions in the GCC for over a decade.
Another sports event has been recently added to the calendar of Qatar, as the country will host the 17th IAAF World Championships, which will unfold in 2019, boosting the construction sector further.
