Qatargas’ unit, Japan’s TEPCO sign LNG deal

(MENAFN) Qatargas Operating Company’s (Qatargas) chairman, Dr Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, announced that a unit of the firm inked a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) and purchase deal with Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), reported Arabian Business.

Al-Sada added that under the deal’s terms, Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (Qatargas 1) will deliver 1 million tons of LNG annually on a long-term basis to Japan’s largest LNG buyer.

He said that the company is committed to provide the Japanese side with stable energy supplies, to boost business ties between Doha and Tokyo that have started 40 years ago.

It is worth noting that Qatargas is the world’s largest LNG-producing company.
