(MENAFN) According to the latest data released by Qatar’s Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, the country’s inflation rate rose to 3.5 percent in during the July-September period of 2014, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
The data showed that an increase in prices was registered in all major groups of commodities and services in varying degrees, with the highest increase registered in the rents, fuel energy group, which increased by 7.9 percent
The group was followed by the in the ‘furniture, textile and home appliances’ category, which rose by 5.2 percent during the third quarter of 2014 in comparison with the same quarter in 2013, while clothing and footwear registered an increase by 2.8 percent compared to a year ago.
When compared to the prices during the April-June, rentals and prices of fuel and energy recorded the highest increase by 1.6 percent followed by the prices of transport and communication, which increased by 1.1 percent.
