Qatar’s GDP to rebound in 2017-18

(MENAFN) Qatar’s real GDP is projected to recover in 2017-18 with the non-hydrocarbon sector continuing to be the major driver, which will grow by 3.8pct and 4.1pct in the cited years.

Accordingly, the first three quarters of 2016 averaged 2.3 percent against the same period of 2015, while the hydrocarbon sector recovered from a contraction of 2.0pct.

In addition, natural gas and related liquids outweigh crude oil, accounting for two thirds of the hydrocarbon sector, which is a result to carry out on some of Qatar”s LNG.

Meanwhile, the GDP growth will recover in 2017-18 with the non-hydrocarbon sector continuing to be the main driver of growth for a number of reasons.
