(MENAFN) Qatar’s international reserves increased to USD41.8 billion in May, up from USD41 billion in April, according to Qatar Monthly Monitor issued by QNB, Gulf Times reported.
The country’s crude output is forecast to bounce back, reaching an average of 709,000 barrels per day (bpd) this year; the estimate comes from the increase from 642,000 bpd in May compared with 635,000 bpd in April.
“We expect the accumulation of international reserves to continue, reaching USD46 billion, or eight months of import cover at end-2015,” QNB said in a statement.
