(MENAFN) Qatar’s Manateq has granted a USD459 million contract for the construction of the country’s first economic zone, which is set to emphasize logistics and innovative technologies, Arabian Business reported.
Manateq awarded the construction work to Spain’s Sacyr and Qatar’s Urbacon Trading & Contracting (UCC); the two will cooperate to design and construct QEZ-1 in Ras Bufontas, according to Spanish media.
The construction work covers an area of nearly 4.1 square kilometers. Manateq develops and operates specialized economic zones in Qatar to provide infrastructure to help the development of private sector businesses.
