(MENAFN) Qatar Gas Transport Company’s (Nakilat) managing director, Muhammad Ghannam, announced that in 2014-15, the company will begin building small, luxury fiber glass yachts, reported Arabian Business.
Ghannam added that the move comes as the firm plans to diversify from its main operation of managing the world’s largest fleet of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vessels.
He added that anyone can submit an order to have a boat, noting that the average price for a small one will begin from USD275,000.
It is worth noting that Nakilat, which posted a total profit from operations of USD204.9 million in 2012, is set to start talks with Doha Port to set up vessels for the terminal, and to provide repair and maintenance services.
