29 Dec 2011

(MENAFN) Qatar said its third quarter nominal gross domestic product rose 40 percent to USD45 billion, Bloomberg reported.

The state’s statistics authority said the growth was driven mainly by expansion in the natural gas output.

According the official data, the mining and quarrying sector, including gas and oil, increased 57 percent, while manufacturing sector grew 37 percent.

Qatar, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas exporter, boosted its LNG output to 77 million tonnes with the start of its 14th liquefaction plant earlier this year.
