(MENAFN) Qatar telecoms group Ooredoo announced that its net profit climbed by 13.6 percent in the first quarter to USD222 million, compared with USD195.14 million a year before, reported Arabian Business.
The company added that in the first 3 months of 2013, revenue grew to USD2.31 billion, from USD2.20 billion in 2012’s same period.
Meanwhile, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) declined by 3.1 percent to USD1.02 billion.
The company, which operates in almost 16 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, said that EBITDA from Indonesia gained 5.4 percent to USD274.4 million, while EBITDA from Iraq and Qatar declined in spite of growing revenue.
