(MENAFN) Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) CEO, Nasser Al-Jaidah, stated that the company has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Exxon Mobil Corp to appraise unconventional gas resources in North America, reported Arabian Business.
Al-Jaidah added that the two parties, who also have mutual interests in liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in the UK, Italy and the US, will also collaborate to evaluate global opportunities in LNG.
He added that the MoU will enable the two companies to tackle the rising and evolving role of natural gas in meeting the requirements of the growing population.
It is worth noting that QPI and Exxon are also involved in LNG projects in Qatar.
