Qatar’s tourism contributes 4 percent in non-oil economy

(MENAFN) The Qatari tourism sector contributes in about 4 percent in the non-hydrocarbon sector, which is equivalent to about USD7.69 billion, according to the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), The Peninsula reported.

The total number of tourists, who visited Qatar, reached 2.82 million in 2014, date issued by QTA showed, confirming that the GCC stands as the major contributor to the total with 40 percent.

In addition, a total of 1.12 million tourists or 28 percent of the total visitors arrived from different Asian countries.
