Qatar’s trade surplus hits QR10.7bn

(MENAFN) The value of Qatar’s total exports reached QR19.3bn in Dec 2016, a decline of 2.6 percent from a year ago, but grew by 2.6 percent on month-on-month.

Moreover, the imports of goods in the cited month reached to almost QR8.5bn, a drop of 22.2 percent over Dec 2015.

In Dec 2016, the foreign merchandise trade balance, which shows the difference between total exports and imports, reached a surplus of QR10.7bn.

Among the cited period, the U.S. was the leading nation of origin of Qatar”s imports with almost QR1.2bn.
