Regional railway got USD200 billion from GCC

(MENAFN) The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) worked to form a new railway authority to mange the integrated regional railway project, Arabian Business reported.

GCC Secretariat-General Ramiz Al Assar said in the third Oman Land Transport Summit that most members finished detailed engineering design of the project with expectations to complete at the end of this year or the beginning of 2014.

He added that there is a master plan scheduled to be applied across the board. Also, member states agreed on certain common guidelines and minimum requirements for the project.

The Project will begin in Kuwait City and end in Muscat.
