(MENAFN) Rezidor Hotel Group unveiled plans to enter the Qatari market by taking over Ramada Plaza Doha for USD18 million, Arabian Business reported.
European hospitality chain plans to turn the existing 583-room hotel to the Radisson Blu brand in the third quarter of 2012.
Rezidor’s is seeking to tap on the Gulf state’s tourism drive ahead of its hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
In November, Rezidor unveiled to strength its presence in the Middle East by adding five hotels a year, as it aims to take advantage of the region’s growing tourism industry.
The Brussels-based hotel chain took over the management of the 471-room JAL Tower in Dubai and the 257-room Hotel JAL Fujairah Resort & Spa.
The hotel chain has 46 hotels in operation or in development under the luxury brand, said Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of Rezidor.
