Riyadh starts digging work on USD22.5 b Riyadh Metro project

(MENAFN) Saudi government has recently started construction work on the USD22.5 billion Riyadh Metro project in Riyadh, according to Arab News.

Riyadh Governor Prince Khaled bin Bandar said that the project aims to improve the quality of life in Riyadh.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 48 months.

Bandar said: “Of course there will be traffic delays while implementing this huge project and I request people of Riyadh to bear with us. We”ll do everything possible to facilitate traffic.”

Digging work started in five places on Thursday including for the metro station at King Khaled International Airport, Al-Olaya Station, its control center and railway maintenance station.
