(MENAFN) Royal Jordanian Airlines is expected to receive a USD141 million aid this year to recover from the operational losses the company incurred on its Middle Eastern routes, according to Arabian Business.
Rebellions of the Arab Spring have negatively affected the regional airlines by a drop in passengers’ number and increasing losses.
Royal Jordanian intends to stop flying over Syrian airspace for security reasons, a move that affected Beirut, a major destination. An alternative route via Egyptian airspace and over the Mediterranean meant a longer journey for its four daily flights.
