Saudi Acwa Power to fund Dayrut power at USD 2.1bn

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabian Acwa Power Company agreed with three global institutions to raise the power plant of Dayrut city in Beheira, Egypt and is predicted to produce 2,250MW of energy.

Moreover, the firm signed a contract with the Chinese Silk Road Fund in order to fund part of the project under the sponsorships of the Saudi King and Chinese president.

The firm agreed with the European Bank to offer part of the project’s funding, and will continue the final discussions with the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity.

Additionally, the Ministry of Electricity is working on adding 2,250 MW to the Dayrut power plants as part of the ministry’s five-tear plan for 2012 to 2017.
