Saudi Arabia to invest USD 0.53bn in water project

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia plans to spend USD 0.53bn to improve water security in Makkah area, Jeddah and Taif and will increase capacity by 5.4mn cubic meters.

Accordingly, the project would be carried out in three stages, with Jeddah getting an extra capacity of 4mn cubic meters at a cost of USD 0.39bn.

Moreover, the aim is to grow the operational efficiency of the water sector and go with the demand from other districts at a cost of USD 58.35mn.

The firm would also promote nine sewage treatment plants serving the three cities from 540,000 to 1.5mn cubic meters a day.
