10 Jul 2012

(MENAFN) Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) stated that it has selected 7 Saudi and foreign firms to present offers for a license to become the third air carrier to operate domestic and international services to and from the Kingdom, reported Arab News.

The seven companies include Saudi, GCC and Chinese firms.

GACA, which is forecasted to declare the name of the licensed firm by the end of September, will provide clarifications to the firms’ inquiries to help them arrange their offers.

The company that will gain the license will be free to select any Saudi airport as its hub and also to operate international flights.

It is worth noting that the winning firm will start operating its services by next year’s April, according to GACA spokesman Khaled Al-Khaibary.
