Saudi moves amnesty deadline to November 3

02 Jul 2013

(MENAFN) With one day away from the end of amnesty period that was given to workers to legalize their work status in Saudi, King Abdullah has given instructions to extend the period more 3 months, Arabian business reported.

The announcement will relieve thousands of workers who have been desperate and racing time to correct their situations. The extension is set to reduce the overwhelming pressure and congestion at foreign embassies and other governmental institutions.

It’s worth noting that tens of thousands of people were deported or asked to leave the country since the kingdom took the decision to crack down on the many foreign workers who have violated their visa terms with surprise inspections on streets and in company offices allowing three months period for illegals to correct their staying terms.
