Saudi power demand grows 8 percent annually

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia’s consumption of power saw a steady, unchanged growth, and is expected to continue growing at the same pace, according to Arab News.

Electricity demand in the kingdom hit an 8 percent average annual growth in the last decade, with the number of subscribers significantly rising by an average of 5.2 percent.

Housing sector consumes 50 percent of the Kingdom’s total electricity production, registering the strongest demand among all sectors.

Industrial electricity consumption, in the meantime, grew by an average of 6.9 percent.
