Saudi Railways’ minerals transport grows by 27pct in H1

(MENAFN) Saudi Railways Co. (SAR) mineral trains transported 4.06mn tons of phosphate and bauxite in the first half of this year compared to 3.21mn tons in the same period of 2016.

Accordingly, mineral trains moved a whole of 23.683.134 tons of phosphate, bauxite, molten sulfur and commercial phosphoric acid.

The firm succeeded in raising the operational level of its mining freight line that resulted in producing extra capacity to meet the needs of its plan partner Ma’aden.

Furthermore, SAR started transporting molten sulfur from the Eastern Province city of Waset to Wa”ad Al-Shamal in the north last May.
